'Maria brings a level of artistry to the role which is hard to find. As well as organizing the team (arranging materials, supplies and personnel) in consultation with WOW’s Creative Director she brings a unique element to the WOW Character Makeup Department.
WOW is the largest single arts event in New Zealand – it’s been described as “Cirque du Soleil meets John Galliano” – and as such requires great depth of support behind the scenes.
As a company we have struggled at times finding people with her level of professional skills and we hope she will continue to work with the Montana World of WearableArt Awards Show.'
Gabrielle Hervey, CEO World Of Wearable Arts Show, New Zealand.
Planetmaz - Head of Character Make-up 2008-09
'Maria is a very talented and highly creative makeup artist who has a broad skill base in all areas of makeup design and application. It is very difficult to find such an experienced makeup artist who is also a fantastic teacher. In the time we have employed Maria she has become an invaluable member of our team.
Her ability to communicate our curriculum to the students is first rate. She is articulate, professional and brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom, which makes her very popular with our students and is highly regarded among her peers.'
Dianne Ensor, Managing Director, The Makeup School, Auckland, New Zealand.
'Maz is a unique creative artist. She is daring and innovative with a limitless imagination. Her work has a wonderful sense of colour and playfulness, and great attention to detail. She designed our album cover. It is personal and striking and really stands out in cd shops. People are drawn to the image and it has helped create interest in our album. But aside from all of this, she is just such great fun to work with. She doesn't have an annoying artist ego and is open to suggestions from her clients. We had a ball. If you want something special and different, I would highly recommend planetmaz. '
Testimonial from Alicia Egan.
'Maz is a joy to work with professional, creative, open to suggestions & fun to work with. I had a blast working with her & I love my Indian Goddess pictures. I would happily work with her again. Thoroughly recommend working with her. '

"Maria is amazing. She completely project managed my photoshoot. She helped me to chose the theme (40s, 50s retro) as well as shopping with me for vintage clothing, designing a 40s hairstyle and then tranforming me into a 40s diva using her incredible makeup skills. Thanks Maz :-)"

'Maria worked with the Academy through the entire learning program with a variety of students aged 16+, on both full time and part time courses. She was an excellent teacher and could demonstrate and instruct a huge range of tools and techniques. Pupils were fond of her classes and she was well know for her enthusiasm and fun as well as technical knowledge and high skills. She brought a unique creativity to the classroom and inspired many new special effects makeup artists.'
Cathrine Keros, Academy Manager, Academy of Makeup, Australia
'Hardworking and enthusiastic, she worked to transform and maintain a variety of makeups and looks with Unity films. Working closely with actors, models and along side the directors and production team in a fast paced environment.'
Michael Sumner, Managing Director, Unity Films Limited, London.
"This is a great project which allows the arts to work with our registration office and library services. To get an artist of the calibre of Maria to work on this was fantastic and a real inspiration for the young children."
Steve Wilson, Worcestershire County Arts Officer
"Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed working with a professional artist and were able to make unique, individual contributions to this collaborative art mural under Maria’s guidance. The finished display looks stunning, celebrates Community and will be enjoyed by many visitors to the Library and Registry Office for years to come."

Pass the site every day and have watched this project grow – what happy looking bunch of youngsters (and adults!)

At last a bright spot amongst the dull building sites and hoardings
– Elaine, Cheltenham
Walking through the Docks and Quays thinking it all looked very stark, then we came upon the artwork. Done by young folk I was told – fabulous.
McCallister Family, Buffalo, USA
The first of many such projects I hope – young people, bright colours and well executed – more and more please.
What’s all this this about young people being trouble? Not this bunch – fab work – can we hire them to brighten up the rest of the place.
Alan, City Centre
The cathedral is really excellent, I nearly drove off the road – well done guys and good luck in the future.
Since the work started I have tried to walk past it every day and I have not been disappointed, always something new to look at. To whoever thought of the idea and carried out the work be very proud, I am!
Dann, Barton Street
Great stuff! Where next? Greyfrairs would be good! You young people should be very proud as in one sweep you have brightened up this part of the City.
Fantastic piece of work – bright and lively, like the young people who painted it from what I saw.
The massive 70ft Community Mural Project with Young Gloucestershire recieves lots of good press and feed back from the locals. You can read about this project here
